Deadpool 2 is officially underway, and we’ve already got a sneak peek from set!

On Monday (June 26), Deadpool himself, aka Ryan Reynolds, shared a picture from the first day of filming Deadpool 2, and we need more details ASAP.

“The sun sets on day 1. Feels good to be back. This dog can hunt,” Reynolds captioned the image.

Okay, so it’s just a picture of the slate for the first take of one of many scenes shot on day one of the superhero sequel, but it still makes us really excited for the next Deadpool installment.

Despite the fact that this is the first image from set, Reynolds previously teased what’s to come from Deadpool with a picture of himself, dressed in costume, outside a massive mansion earlier this month.

“Dropped by X-Mansion. Looked closely for Beast’s lawn bombs before taking well deserved nap,” he captioned a picture posted earlier this month of himself in character in front of the iconic X-Men digs.

Although we are all for images from set, and teases from the film’s fearless leader, there are still a lot of things up in the air for the second film in the Deadpool franchise. There have been a lot of casting announcements — Josh Brolin as Cable was a BIG one — but based on the fact that a number of stars, like Leslie Jones, have said they want to be in the film, we’re hoping for a few surprise guests when the sequel actually hits theaters.

Who do you think will show up in the movie?

Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
