Tony Stark and Peter Parker’s first meeting in Captain America: Civil War was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the film, but it turns out these two superheroes had crossed paths before!

For the past few years, there’s been a cool fan theory going around that Peter Parker could have been featured in Iron Man 2. In the film, there’s a moment when a little boy dressed as Iron Man holds up his hand to fight one of the Hammer drones. Many have believed since the film came out in 2010, that the little boy was none other than a very young Peter Parker.

Now, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland has officially confirmed that the little boy was in fact a much younger version of his character.

In a recent interview with Huffington Post, Holland revealed that he turned to director Kevin Feige for confirmation.

“It is Peter Parker,” said Holland according to ComingSoon.net. “I can confirm that, that is Peter Parker. I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.”

We love that Holland took the time to get the cool fan theory confirmed by none other than Feige himself.

More importantly, we’ll be interested to know if the subtle Peter Parker cameo in Iron Man 2 will ever come up again, or if it’ll just remain a fun easter egg for fans to pick up on whenever they have an Iron Man marathon!

Update 6/28: In an interview with i09 following his comments to the Huffington Post, Holland clarified that Feige did not officially confirm the cameo, but the actor decided to share it anyway since he thought it would be a good story.
