Director Matt Reeves is opening up about what fans can expect from The Batman, and it’s bound to make you even more excited for the film!

While seeing Ben Affleck as the caped crusader in Batman V. Superman may have given fans a feel for the latest iteration of popular the character, it sounds like the upcoming solo Batman film is set to kick things up a notch.

Reeves recently sat down with New Trailer Buzz where he revealed that he plans to use storytelling and camera angles to allow the audience to experience Batman’s point of view.

The director also revealed that there’ll be a noir/detective aspect to the upcoming film.

“There’s a chance to do an almost noir-driven, detective version of Batman that is point-of-view driven in a very, very powerful way that hopefully is going to connect you to what’s going on inside of his head and inside of his heart,” the director told New Trailer Buzz.

Reeves’ latest credits include helming War for the Planet of the Apes, which is also incredibly character driven. In fact, Reeves even sees a lot of Apes’ Caesar in Batman, citing that they’re both “trying to grapple within themselves to find a way to do the right thing” in a corrupt world.

It definitely sounds like Reeves has got a firm grasp on who Batman is and where he wants to take the film. We’ll be looking forward to seeing the director’s vision come to life when The Batman hits the big screen!
