In the eyes of Game of Thrones fans (ourselves included), Jon Snow is pretty much perfect — a formidable leader who would do anything for his family. The actor who plays him, however, might beg to differ.
“I made mistakes and felt that he wasn’t interesting enough,” Harington told Time while discussing his character in Belfast as a part of the magazine’s GOT feature article.
Harington knows it sounds odd, because Jon Snow is anything but boring on screen, but hear him out.
“That sounds weird, but I’ve never been quite content with him,” he continued. “Maybe that’s what makes him him. That angst.”
Harington also explained that come Season 7 — which begins next month — there will be a different side of Jon Snow on display.
“This year there is this huge seismic shift where all of what he’s learned over the years, suddenly …” Harington said before trailing off. “He’s still the same Jon, but he grows up.”
So to recap, Jon Snow will “grow up” next season, but will keep his angst, because it’s definitely what makes him him. What exactly will happen when all of our favorite characters return to the land of Westeros however, is still a mystery, and we can barely wait to find out what happens next.
