The Fate of the Furious might’ve just hit the box office, but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is already revving up for a spinoff.

While promoting the Fate of the Furious director’s cut, Johnson teased a potential offshoot of the Fast & Furious franchise starring Hobbs (Johnson) & Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham).

“I told Statham while we were shooting F8, ‘Brother if I ever give you a toothbrush for a gift, you’ll know what’s coming,’” Johnson captioned a the teaser clip for the extended cut. “We’re cooking up some big/cool things for Hobbs and this franchise. I’ll keep you posted. #HeresYourToothbrush 🤙🏾.”

The Fast & Furious franchise has proven hugely successful  — The Fate of the Furious alone earned and estimated 532.5 million globally in its opening weekend — so a spinoff to continue the saga behind the final trilogy makes perfect sense.

Although the teaser video is simply clips from the Fast & Furious 8’s new extended cut, including Hobbs kicking some serious butt in prison, getting rid of a torpedo, and making an intense threat having to do with a toothbrush, we are still pumped for the Hobbs’ spinoff that Johnson alluded to with his caption.

Sure, we’d love to see some actual footage of Johnson and Statham working on this rumored spinoff, but a funny caption and a tease of more to come from Johnson works for us… at least for now.

Fingers crossed Johnson keeps giving us glimpses at what’s to come, and that he makes good on his promise for more Hobbs!
