With filming for Once Upon a Time season 7 officially underway, we finally have our first look at what’s to come when the drama returns this fall.
On Friday (July 7), OUAT co-creator Adam Horowitz shared two photos from the second day of filming the fairytale series in Vancouver, Canada. While the pictures don’t give away too much, they do offer just enough clues to peak our curiosity about what’s to come.
“Lighting. Stand ins. Day 2. #onceuponatime,” Horowitz captioned a photo on Instagram that shows two stand in actors in front of a shop of some sort.
Could this scene be at Gold’s shop in Storybrooke? Maybe it’s a sneak peek at a scene between adult Henry (Andrew J. West) and a mystery woman located in Seattle? Or could it be a a glimpse at Hook (Colin O’ Donoghue) with a new character? It’s anyone’s guess as to which two characters from the show are set to star in the scene shared by Horowitz!
While the sneak peek doesn’t provide details, the showrunner previously posted a picture of the script from season 7, episode 1, that revealed there will be at least one scene set in Storybrooke this fall. Therefore, this could be Gold’s shop.
Horowitz’s Twitter tease from day two of filming provided even less details — but inspired more questions.
“Shooting #OnceUponATime in Vancouver. What is that?!?” the OUAT mastermind captioned his second picture.
The shot features a giant mystery item — perhaps from the Fairy Tale land where the Evil Queen once lived (or it could be some random hardware that doesn’t have anything to do with the show!). The photo also offers a glimpse at two men who appear to be construction workers. These side-by-side shots make us wonder if they are shooting a Seattle-set scene, which is where adult Henry (played by OUAT newcomer Andrew J. West) lives when his daughter enters his life holding a story book , just like Henry had when he met his mother in the pilot episode of the whole show.
Clearly, the possibilities are endless when it comes to the rebooted seventh season, but what we do know about what’s ahead is that in addition to picking back up in Storybrooke (at least in episode one), a number of new faces are joining the cast.
In fact, there are five new actresses joining the star-studded cast come season 7, which is exciting after the announcement of so many fan-favorites leaving the series was made earlier this summer.
There might not be any more stories with the Charming family, including Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin, but Henry is going to carry on his mother’s work — whether he wants to or not.
Plus, with a potential new operation — like Operation Cobra in the past — being teased with the season 7 premiere episode title, “Hyperion Heights” fans have a lot to look forward to when the OUAT crew returns next season.
Once Upon a Time returns for its seventh season on October 6, 2017 on ABC.
