Netflix just revealed a brand-new poster for Stranger Things season 2 that hints at major trouble up ahead for the town of Hawkins!
Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Will (Noah Schnapps), and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) might have been able to save their sleepy suburban town from the evils of the Upside Down, but it looks like there are more supernatural forces heading their way.
Netflix took to their official Twitter account to share a brand new promo image, along with a foreboding message.
“Some doors can’t be closed,” tweeted the online streaming platform. “@Stranger_Things season 2. October 27.”
The new image features Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will on their bicycles stopped on a desert road next to a “Welcome to Hawkins” sign. It’s what lies before them, however, that’s foreshadows the adventure ahead.
Up ahead, we can see a dark red colored sky with what seems to be this year’s big bad admits the clouds.
Ever since we got our first look at the monster when the first teaser trailer hit the internet back in February, fans have been speculating that the gang could get going up against a Thessalhydra when Stranger Things season 2 returns with new episodes.
We’ll be looking forward to seeing if that theory rings true when the series returns in the fall!
Stranger Things season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix beginning October 27.
