Descendants 2 is almost upon us and according to one cast member, it’s definitely going to surpass the expectations set by the first movie.

On Tuesday (July 12), the cast of the Disney Channel Original Movie stepped out for the premiere of Descendants 2 in Los Angeles, shedding their dark personas for looks fit for Disney’s famous princes and princesses. While the cast’s magical red carpet appearance could certainly be considered show-stopping, it’s Dove Cameron‘s tease about the second installment in the Descendants franchise that’s got us excited.

During an interview with ABC 7 , Cameron revealed that fans of the original film will be more than satisfied with the follow-up.

“If you loved the first one, you are going to flip out over the second one,” Cameron, who plays Maleficent’s daughter Mal, told ABC 7 at the premiere. “It’s everything that you loved but 10 times more.”

Let’s hope that means there will be more music, more dancing (even though Cameron once thought she’d get fired for her lack of dance training), and of course, more evil (which could come in the form of Ursula’s daughter, Uma, played by China Anne McClain).

Cameron’s costars also opened up about the second installment of Disney Channel’s latest DCOM craze, with Sofia Carson, aka the Evil Queen’s daughter Evie, revealing that there is always a greater meaning behind Descendants movies.

“Underneath all of that (the music and action), it’s a story of four kids who teach us to never be afraid of who you are,” Carson told ABC 7 .

With Descendants 2  following Mal as she flees from Auradon to the Isle of the Lost where Uma is now in charge, we can certainly see how the film will drive home a lesson about finding one’s self. And based on Cameron’s tease, we couldn’t be more excited to go on the journey.

Needless to say, our expectations set very high!

Descendants 2 premieres on July 21, 2017 on Disney Channel, ABC, Freeform, Disney XD and Lifetime.
