Gilmore Girls fans hoping for more episodes of the Netflix revival might not want to get too excited over the possibility of a second season.

Actor Sean Gunn, who plays the beloved Kirk on the series, revealed that there are currently no plans to continue the revival during an interview with ComicBook.com, at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, PopCulture.com reports.

“I don’t know the answer to that,” said Gunn when asked if Netflix is interested in doing more Gilmore Girls. “As of right now there are no plans to shoot more. I know Netflix would like to shoot more.

Though we’ve heard in the past that Netflix might be interested in giving Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life another season, it sounds as though the cast is conflicted over whether or not that would be a good idea.

Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai, recently told Indie Wire that continuing on with the series could be too much of a good thing.

“Five years from now do you have A Very Gilmore Christmas? Maybe, but there’s no reason anymore except enjoyment,” explained Graham. “And actually, I think there’s far more risk to continue— you run the risk of disappointing people.”

As much as we’d love more episodes of Gilmore Girls Graham definitely brings up a valid point. While there were many fans who were happy with the way A Year In The Life wrapped up Emily, Lorelia, and Rory’s stories, others disliked the way the series left things for a few of the characters.

It looks as though the fate of Gilmore Girls is very much up in the air for now. Even so, we’ll be ready and waiting if in the event that the cast and crew decide to come back for more.
