Niall Horan may be busy with his solo career, but he still makes time to listen to music by each of his One Direction bandmates. In fact, there’s even a song by one of his fellow members that he wishes he could claim as his own.
While promoting his latest single, “Slow Hands,” in Singapore, Horan talked to The Straits Times about what his upcoming solo album is going to sound like, and admitted there is one track from Harry Styles’ debut album that he would’ve loved to have written.
“I wanted to make the album that came most naturally to me and not have to overthink the sound,” Horan told The Straits Times in regards to his first album, which has yet to get a release date.
Horan explained that although he has hints of country, groovy, and funk rock on his album, Styles’ rock ballad, “Two Ghosts,” is right up [his] alley.
Horan, who just announced his first solo tour, hasn’t only been listening to Styles’ tracks, however. The Irish revealed explained that he’s also weighed in on new music from Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.
“I’ve heard Liam’s new song and Louis’ stuff, and they’ve heard some of mine,” Horan told The Straits Times. “It’s good to have that because we will be honest with each other if we don’t like it, especially because we’ve done that for so many years.”
Clearly, One Direction is a life-long bond for the singers and we love that they support one another, even if they secretly wish they’d written some of each other’s songs.
