Comic-Con 2017 is officially underway, and it’s already brought us a sneak peek at the Rocko’s Modern Life revival!

During the panel for Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling on Thursday (July 20), Nickelodeon debuted footage from the upcoming TV movie revival, and one thing is for sure, the 21st century is totally foreign to Rocko.

The premise for the reboot begins with Rocko returning to Earth after heading to space with his BFFs Heffer and Fliburt back in 1996. Of course, a lot has changed on Earth since they’ve been away — there are food trucks, and so much more!

The first clip from the revival begins with all of the guys running around now that they’re back on planet Earth, but they aren’t going to be able to “frolic through nature” like they used to. “Uh fellas, I don’t think we’re in the ‘90s anymore,” Rocko says after peeking through the hedges.

What does he see? For starters, there is a BuzzBucks (aka Starbucks) on every corner… like every corner, and the new oPhone keeps updating as they gang stands outside the store — sounds familiar, don’t you think?

There are food trucks with wild creations like the pizza taco, and radio-active energy drinks, that people are dying to get their hands on. Rocko’s old job is no more, now that comic books are created in a printer at an ATM-like machine. Oh, and 3D movies are SO real that Rocko actually gets punched in the face.

“The 21st century is a very dangerous century,” Rocko concludes, and he’s not wrong.

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will premiere on Nickelodeon sometime in 2018.
