Stranger Things became an instant hit after it debuted last year, and ever since, fans have been clamoring for more. Now, we finally have a look at what season two of the spooky series will entail and it’s so twisted.
On Saturday (July 22), Netflix released the season 2 trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, which reveals that the world is in fact upside down, just as the cast had previously teased. In fact, it’s even creepier than we thought it would be, and yet we can’t wait to tune in and watch it this October.
So what’s in store next season? Well, thrills, chills, and video games, for starters.
When the trailer begins four of the lead kid characters (Mike, Lucas, Will and Dustin) are playing Dragon’s Lair at the arcade when all of a sudden, Will (Noah Schnapp) is alone in a terrifying world with lightening, scary sounds, and neon lights. Luckily, it was all a dream… or was it?
“Nothing’s going to go back to the way it was. Not really,” a voice says as we see Will getting tested after talking about all of the visions and feelings he’s been having lately.
We get sneak peek at the darkness as it descends on the town of Hawkins, and glimpses at police chief (David Harbour), who is understandably worried about what’s coming next. The world — and monster — that only Will sees (at least to start) wants everyone in town but him, and it’s NOT good.
“If you’re out there, please give me a sign,” Will says at one point hoping to see Eleven. Then Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) eyes open and we see that she is stuck in the creepy world, alone. Before the clip ends, we see Eleven trying to push through this twisted world, and then we hear a creepy laugh, before everything fades to black. How scary is that?!
Strangers Things returns for its second season on October 27, 2017 on Netflix.
