Chicago P.D. will be returning this fall for its fifth season, and when it does there will be a new actor taking center stage.

Come season 5, Tracy Spiridakos will be a series regular, TV Line reports. As Chicago P.D. fans know, Spiridakos played the recurring character of Detective Hailey Upton last season, and now we’ll be getting more from the detective, which we’re not at all mad about.

Last season fans saw Spiridakos’ Det. Hailey Upton clash with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) when she first arrived at the precinct, but over time she earned the respect she wanted, and won over a few fans’ hearts in the process. After temporarily filling in when Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) took a leave of absence, it looks like Det. Upton is here to stay.

Plus, with all of the speculation surrounding the fact that Sophia Bush, who plays P.D.’s leading lady Det. Erin Lindsay, may not be returning next season, having another powerhouse woman at the forefront of the series is great news.

Spiridakos’ addition to the full-time cast isn’t the only change we will see come season 5. Chicago favorite, Jon Seda, will be returning to the series as Det. Antonio Dawson, after leaving for Chicago Justice (which was just canceled) in the middle of season 4.

“Though saddened with @chicagojustice I’m humbled by all the love from the #OneChicago fans, thank you! Also, many thanks to DickWolf & @NBC,” Seda wrote on Twitter last month confirming his return to Chicago P.D.

Chicago P.D. will return for its fifth season on September 27, 2017 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
