The second episode of Game of Thrones may have brought us an emotional reunion, but there was another that was sorely missing.

After seeing Arya (Maisie Williams) reunite with her beloved direwolf, Nymera, in “Stormborn,” many fans were left wondering if we’d get a scene featuring Jon Snow (Kit Harington) reuniting with his loyal pet.

Though we caught a glimpse of Ghost, at Castle Black, we haven’t really seen much of the striking direwolf since then. Now, we’re learning that we were actually supposed to get a scene featuring Ghost in the episode.

Game of Thrones writer and producer, Bryan Cogman, had every intention of including a moment which would have featured Ghost. Unfortunately, the scene, which Cogman fought to keep in, ended up being cut.

The writer took to Twitter to let fans know of the proposed scene on Monday (July 24), following the premiere of the second episode of the season.

“FYI…we shot a Jon/Ghost scene. Didn’t make it in. I tried! Thx for watching, everybody. #stormborn” tweeted Cogman.

As Digital Spy points out, there have been many instances in which the series has attempted to show us more moments between Jon and Ghost. Unfortunately, they’ve all been cut because it’s quite expensive to bring the direwolf to life.

Here’s hoping the series finds it in their budget to feature Ghost at least once more before they wrap things up in season 8! Do you have any theories as to where we might see Ghost pop up in the future? Let us know in the comments below if so!

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
