Heads up, NCIS: Los Angeles fans! Director John P. Kousakis just revealed some pretty interesting information about the upcoming season 9 premiere — including which beloved character won’t be in the episode.
Kousakis took to Twitter in a series of posts to tease the first episode of the upcoming season with a snapshot of the concept draft for the episode. The first post featured a photo of the cover page of the script.
“This Premiere script begins the exiting thrills & outstanding stories the #bestcastandcrewinthebiz will present to our loyal fans in S9,” wrote Kousakis along with the photo.
The photo also lets us in on the fact that the first episode of season 9 is called “Party Crashers,” and that it was written by none other than showrunner R. Scott Gemmill.
The second tweet gives us a feel for where the story will take place when NCIS: Los Angeles returns with the first new episode of the season.
“LOCATIONS…LOCATIONS…LOCATIONS!!!” tweeted Kousakis about the CBS procedural which stars LL Cool J and Chris O’ Donnell. “EP.901 is ready 2 launch. The #bestcastandcrewinthebiz will do all this work in 7 days! We do it 4 YOU.”
While the list doesn’t give away too much, we do know that at least one character won’t be popping up in any of the locations Kousakis shared — at least not in the premiere. Over the weekend, Kousakis confirmed that — contrary to what he had previously said — everyone’s favorite canine, Monty, will not be featured in the premiere episode. However, the director assured “he will be back.”
Here’s hoping Monty is back soon!
NCIS: Los Angeles returns to CBS for season 9 on October 1.
