NCIS: Los Angeles has found a new executive assistant director in Nia Long, and we’re so excited to see what she does when she joins the team.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Long — whose extensive TV credits including Empire, House of Lies, and more — will be joining the NCIS spinoff as a series regular during season 9. She will make her debut on the crime drama, which stars LL Cool J and Chris O’ Donnell, as a former secret service agent named Mosely, when the series returns this October.
“The character was created specifically for Nia to capitalize on her strengths and personality and we are excited about the new opportunities and dynamics she brings to the show,” said NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer R. Scott Gemmill via The Hollywood Reporter. “We couldn’t be happier to have her join our family.”
Long’s character being designed around her skills makes us even more excited to see how Mosley will fit into the already established team. The new member of the Naval Criminal Investigation Service comes to the unit as a Washington insider with East Coast style to our favorite West Coast criminal investigators, but she’s not the only new addition to the NCIS family.
Last week, CBS announced that the NCIS universe was getting bigger and better, by revealing that Maria Bello was joining the cast of the original Navy-focused series as series regular. There’s no question that Long and Bello are going to be bringing their A-game to NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS, respectively, and we can’t wait to see what comes next!
