Quantico season 3 is all about change, especially when it comes to the cast. After losing series regulars Yasmine Al Massri and Pearl Thusi earlier this summer, we finally have some good news for Quantico fans.
TV Line reports that Marlee Matlin, who most recently starred on Freeform’s Switched at Birth, will be joining the ABC series when it returns next season. With all the switches, including a change in showrunner (Michael Seitzman will replace long-time showrunner Joshua Safran), Matlin’s addition to the ABC drama is a breath of fresh air.
“Can’t wait to work with @priyankachopra @JohannaEBraddy @jjakemclaughlin my old friend @BlairUnderwood & of course @michaelseitzman,” Matlin wrote on Twitter after the news broke of her new role.
According to the publication, Matlin, who is deaf, will play an ex-FBI agent named Jocelyn Turner. Jocelyn was a top undercover agent for the Bureau before losing her hearing as a result of being too close to a bomb blast, which led to her “do-nothing role” after the accident and later being assigned to a “special unit” comprised of some of our favorite returning characters.
One of those returning characters, Priyanka Chopra, who plays the lead, Alex Parrish, on the series, was quick to welcome the team’s newest member, and we are now even more excited to see these two women on screen together.
“Welcome to #quantico @MarleeMatlin we can’t wait to have u on board,” she tweeted on Monday.
We can’t wait to see what the upcoming season of Quantico has in store for fans — and how Matlin will help amp up the drama!
Quantico is set for a midseason premiere.
