Liam Payne might be busy focusing on his own solo material, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be interested in collaborating with one of his former One Direction bandmates!

Payne recently stopped by BuzzFeed to play with some seriously adorable puppies, and to answer some fun questions about his new solo career.

When asked which member of One Direction he might want to hit the studio with, the singer provided a perfect answer!

“I think I would collaborate best with Zayn because we do really similar types of music,” said Payne. “And I would like our music video to be right here with these puppies, because this is too much fun right now.”

Liam, Zayn, and a slew of cute pups? Sign us up for that collab— we’re already sold on the concept!

If Payn and Malik were to hit the studio together, we’ve got a feeling they’d have a massive hit on their hands. One Direction aside, they’ve both chosen to pursue R&B inspired avenues when it comes to creating their own music, so their respective styles would definitely blend well together.

As exciting as it is to hear that Payne is all for collaborating with Zayn, it should be noted that he’s already hit the studio with one of his former One Direction bandmates.

Back in October of 2016, the BBC reported that Payne had teamed up with his pal Louis Tomlinson to work on a track called “Something That Scares Me About Love.”

There’s still no word on who the track could be for, or if we’ll ever get to hear it, but it’s great to know that both Payne and Tomlinson are still interested in continuing their writing partnership together past One Direction.

As for Payne and Malik, while we’re definitely enjoying their respective solo music, we’ll be crossing our fingers for a collab somewhere down the line. Now that Liam’s bought it to our attention, we can’t get the idea out of our heads!
