Sophia Bush’s exit from Chicago P.D. could actually be a good thing. No, really, hear us out!

It was confirmed last week that Bush is officially leaving Chicago P.D. after four amazing seasons. While this is sad news for the Chicago universe, One Tree Hill fans might reap the benefits of the actress no longer having a series-regular commitment.

Last year, we caught up with Bush at PaleyFest’s An Evening with Dick Wolf, and asked the actress about why we don’t get to see her take part in more stateside One Tree Hill reunions, including the numerous EyeCon Wilmington events. At the time she was busy kicking butt and filming her role as Detective Erin Lindsay in Chicago, and said the series regular role made it difficult to take part in the annual OTH get togethers.

“You know, there was one convention a year for a while and now there’s like, 10 a year, which I just— I have a full time job, I can’t make it to all of them,” Bush told People’s Choice at the time about the OTH conventions (she ended up making her first-ever U.S. One Tree Hill convention appearance at EyeCon in May 2016, just a few months after our interview with her). “I wish that I could see everyone a little more often because we are all great friends and we adore each other.”

Now that Bush doesn’t have that show commitment, however, it seems like the door is wide open for her to return to her Brooke Davis roots full-time. But would the actress be willing to dive back into the world of OTH even deeper by taking part in an on-screen reunion?

When we asked where she stood on an actual TV revival of One Tree Hill in 2016, Bush again explained that she was busy — which in all fairness she totally was — but now, we’re hoping her answer will change.

“I’ve got a full time job,” Bush said about her busy filming schedule in 2016. “I don’t have the opportunity to shoot another year of a series, so I don’t think it’s really feasible.”

We agree that Bush playing Det. Lindsay and Brooke Davis would’ve been too much to juggle at the same time, but once Bush has had a little break (which she totally deserves) we’re rooting for a real One Tree Hill reunion, featuring all the OTH favorites like, Bethany Joy Lenz (aka Haley James Scott) and Hilarie Burton (aka Peyton Sawyer).

Sure, we’d love to see her back with her castmates at another EyeCon event (this year’s event features both Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty), but a TV reunion would be even better. What are your thoughts One Tree Hill fans? Would you like to see Bush reunite with her fellow Ravens for a real reunion soon?
