Justin Bieber has big news for his loyal fans!
The singer just announced on Twitter that he is releasing new music this week (Thursday, to be exact), and we are freaking out over here.
Where did this new music announcement begin, you ask? Though fans didn’t know it at the time, the “Sorry” singer tweeted a hint about his new music over the weekend. “Can we still be friends,” Bieber wrote on Twitter, leading fans to speculate what or who the seemingly random tweet could be about. Today, they got their answer when Bieber posted a follow up tweet confirming that “can we still be friends” is actually a reference to his next single.
“New music. Thursday noon,” Bieber tweeted on Monday alongside a picture of two birds sharing (or fighting?) over a worm.
Based on the picture, the Canadian singer’s new single is called “Friends” and it features BloodPop as the producer on the track. Sounds, pretty exciting right?
After canceling his Purpose World Tour last month, we are very surprised that that Bieber is back to the musical grind already. In fact, the artist previously shared a heartfelt message to his fans apologizing for canceling his tour and explaining why he needed time to focus on himself.
“I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind, heart, and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “This message is just an opportunity for you to know my heart, I’m not expecting anyone to understand, but I do want people to have an opportunity to know where I am coming from.”
Clearly, Bieber is ready to share that newfound sustainability and we are very curious to hear this new song.
Justin Bieber’s “Friends” drops on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
