The Fast & Furious franchise is changing gears!
On Wednesday (Aug. 9), Vin Diesel took to Facebook Live! to make a very exciting announcement about the future of the franchise — and it’s one we definitely didn’t see coming. While Diesel has previously teased a number of Fast & Furious spinoffs, he has now confirmed that the franchise will also be expanding with a live show.
“As you know my work with Fast & Furious never ends, which I’m grateful for,” Diesel said on Facebook Live! after zooming in on his Toretto name tag. “Now, I’m in New York believe it or not and we’re filming something that is going to be pretty state of the art, something no one’s ever seen before, which is a live show.”
Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in all of the Fast & Furious films, didn’t share too many details about this new “live show,” but he did say that it would be kicking off its world tour in London at the O2 Arena.
“We’re really excited about it. It’ll be a way for you to see the action firsthand. It’s the first time it’s ever been done,” he said, which makes us both excited and curious about what this could all mean.
What does a live show Fast & Furious style really mean? Will Diesel be acting and performing live on stage around the world? Will Fast & Furious stars including Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris Jason Statham, and more also be involved?
We might not have answers just yet for all of you Fast & Furious fans, but Diesel, who has previously talked about many more movies from this franchise, is currently in New York filming part of this new project, so here’s hoping he gives us more from set soon!
