Hollywood’s leading ladies are kicking butt and making major money these days, and they deserve every penny of it!
This week, Forbes revealed its list of the “World’s Highest Paid Actresses of 2017” and the winner isn’t totally surprising, but she did beat out some major names for the top spot. La La Land actress Emma Stone is officially the highest paid female in Hollywood, and with an Oscar-winning film in 2017 it makes sense.
According to Forbes, Stone, who played Mia in the critically-acclaimed musical film, took home $26 million (pretax) during their 12-month scoring period. Oh, and she’s only 28 years old!
In addition to beating out the iconic Jennifer Aniston — who holds the number two spot this year with $25.5 million — Stone bumped down her good friend (and another actress named Jennifer) Jennifer Lawrence.
The Hunger Games star was last year’s highest-paid actress, and is now positioned at the number three spot, earning just over half her 2016 wages. It’s a cool $24 million, so clearly the actress is NOT hurting for money.
We know Stone’s success with La La Land, which grossed $445.3 million at the box office globally and got her an Oscar win for Best Actress, makes her a strong candidate for the top honor, but beating out Lawrence is HUGE.
