While we are still more than a month away from the season 14 premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, fans can’t help but want more scoops about what’s ahead on the series, and we don’t blame them!
After all, from everything we’ve heard so far, there’s plenty to be excited about! With cast members confirming that Grey’s Anatomy will be returning to its roots in season 14, and adapting a lighter, more fun tone along the way. Adding to the anticipation, Martin Henderson, who plays Dr. Nathan Riggs, recently revealed during an Instagram Live Q&A that season 14 is also his favorite so far.
“Maybe this one. I think this one’s pretty cool,” the actor said about his favorite season of the medical drama, which costars Ellen Pompeo, Jesse Williams, Justin Chambers and Sarah Drew. Though Henderson didn’t give away anything about why season 14 is so cool, he previously hinted that his character could have some friction with returning star Kim Raver’s Dr. Teddy Altman. Besides that, it looks like we’ll just have to tune into the season premiere to see what Dr. Riggs is actually up to!
When asked what his favorite scene from last season was, Henderson chose a scene with another fan-favorite, Dr. Owen Hunt (played by Kevin McKidd).
“I really liked all the surgery stuff with Owen. The complex surgery, that was cool,” Henderson said. “I like being active in scenes.”
Hmm…perhaps Henderson is such a fan of season 14 because he gets to do more complex surgeries? Why do you think the cast is especially hyped for the upcoming season? Let us know in the comments!
Grey’s Anatomy returns for season 14 on September 28, 2017 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
