Shawn Mendes is ruling the music game in so many ways these days. Not only is he currently on a successful world tour, but also on Sunday (Aug. 27), he performed for the first time at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. To top it all off, Mendes is heating up the music charts and earning a major title in the process.

Billboard reports that (according to Nielsen Music tabulated numbers) Mendes most-recent single, “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” has risen to the top of the Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart for the week of September 9.

Mendes isn’t exactly a stranger to having the number one song on the airwaves, but what makes this one such a big deal is that the song gives the Canadian singer the title of the “First artist under 20 to land three number one songs on the Adult Pop Songs Chart.”

There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” follows Mendes’ “Stitches,” which rose to the top spot on February 6, 2016 (dated chart), and “Treat You Better,” which took over the airwaves beginning back in October 2016 for six weeks.

Mendes is only 19 years old, which makes this a BIG accomplishment and gives him the honor ahead of Avril Lavigne and Lorde, who each had two singles on the Adult Pop Songs chart at number one when they were 20 years old or younger. However, only Mendes has managed to snag three top-singles on the chart at such a young age.

The “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” singer recently revealed that he was sick when he came up with the sound on his latest chart-topping single, and based on this accomplishment,we’re guessing it was well worth the pain he had to go through to get here!

Congrats, Shawn!
