The last few seasons of The Big Bang Theory have brought some major changes for our favorite characters. We’ve seen Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) get married and Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) become parents, but if there’s one character who’s due to step into the spotlight in a big way, its Raj (Kunal Nayyar).
“I want Raj to be happy. I want him to find happiness in himself. Does that mean finding another person? I don’t know. Maybe he can have great success in work. Sometimes we get caught up so much in the relationships here that ew forget that these are actually functioning, brilliant scientists who are really good at what they do,” Molaro told Glamour. “Whether it’s in the relationship side, or on the professional front, I hope Raj can have some success, somehow.”
As much as Molaro is hoping to see Raj find some well deserved happiness, the fate of Leonard and Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) friend now lies in the hands of new Big Bang Theory executive producer Steve Holland.
Holland, who joined the TBBT family during season 3, was named showrunner toward the end of July when it was announced that Molaro and co-creator Chuck Lorre would be moving over to spearhead the upcoming spinoff, Young Sheldon.
Though Molaro and Lorre won’t be as involved with the creative side of things anymore, we’ll be interested to see if any of Molaro’s hopes and dreams for Raj end up making into this coming season!
Season 11 of The Big Bang Theory kicks off Monday, September 11 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
