Miley Cyrus has come a long way from her days starring on Hannah Montana, but no matter how many years pass, her pop star alter-ego will always be a part of her.

Cyrus’ latest single, “Younger Now,” has been giving fans major flashbacks to her Disney Channel days. From the familiar choreography in the music video to some of the lyrics in the track itself, there’s no denying there are a few obvious parallels and references to the classic tween series.

In a recent interview with MTV, however, Cyrus revealed that any similarities fans happen to see between “Younger Now” and her days playing Hannah Montana are a happy coincidence.

“Even though I wasn’t intentionally trying to reenact something I had already done, it just naturally happened,” Cyrus told MTV. “because that’s a part of me too.”

Cyrus might be all about embracing all of the versions of herself, but fans shouldn’t take that as a sign that she’s ready to dive back into Hannah Montana’s world full time.

When it comes to rebooting the series, Cyrus revealed in an interview with the Zach Sang Show back in May that she’s not interested in a revival.

“That’s a lot of time to be spent with my dad— I have a lot of dad time,” joked Cyrus.

As much as we’d love to know what our favorite Hannah Montana characters are up to these days, we’re just happy knowing that Miley Cyrus has gotten to a place where she can fondly look back on the time she spent playing one of our favorite Disney Channel characters!
