When Blindspot returns to NBC this fall, Shepherd, played by Michelle Hurd will not be back — but it might not be forever, if the show’s creator, Martin Gero, has anything to say about it.
“We don’t yet have a plan to bring her back, but it’s not a closed door in any way,” Gero told TVLine in regards to the news that Hurd would not be reprising her villainous role come season three.
The last time fans saw Hurd’s character, she was gearing up to wreak major havoc, but ultimately was unsuccessful in her efforts. Based on Gero’s comments, it sounds as if even though Shepherd will not be in the picture in coming episodes — she could always return to create more drama.
If you’re a big fan of Hurd, however, don’t fret, because the actress will still be on TV this fall. She is reportedly starring as a recurring character on Lethal Weapon, (another crime-style series) so that’s a positive!
As for Blindspot, the show’s creator previously teased a change in scenery in the beginning of the new season on Instagram by posting pictures of the cast in Venice, Italy. From the looks of it, Jane Doe and Kurt Weller (played by Sullivan Stapleton) are back in action in Italy and kicking butt everywhere they go.
To see who Jane Doe and Kurt will be running from, or fighting against when the show picks up, you’ll have to tune in when the show comes back next month.
Blindspot returns for season 3 on October 27, 2017 on NBC.
