Fans will finally get to return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital later this month when season 14 of Grey’s Anatomy begins, and if the synopsis of the two-hour opener is anything to go by, they’ll definitely want to take the advice of creator Shonda Rhimes and “prepare themselves” for what’s ahead.
With just a few weeks to go before the new season gets underway, ABC released its official description from the second-half of its premiere episode, and it’s very telling. As we already know, part one of the two-hour premiere will be titled, “Break Down the House,” and now we’ve learned that “Get Off on the Pain” will be the title of the second hour of new television from the drama.
According to an ABC press release via Spoiler TV, the part of the premiere episode will feature multiple storylines, including Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) “struggle” to make a new plan for Owen’s (Owen McKidd) sister.
As for what else the episode will include? We’ll let you read for yourself.
“Jo makes a surprising choice regarding Alex, and Andrew’s sister’s controversial research leads to a shocking discovery,” the press release states. Needless to say, a “shocking discovery” is always cause for concern when it comes to Grey’s.
What could Andrew’s sister’s discovery be? Knowing how Grey’s Anatomy works, it will most likely be a shocker that complicates a lot of lives.
The good news is that although this description is very ominous — would you expect anything less from the drama? — cast members have previously teased that the first few episodes of season 14, as well as the general feel of this season will be much more light-hearted.
In fact, back in August, Jessica Capshaw, who plays Dr. Arizona Robins told E! News that “both the first and second episodes and they are righteously hysterical.” So here’s hoping this discovery doesn’t impact the “hysterical” storylines to come.
Grey’s Anatomy returns for season 14 with a two-hour premiere on September 28, 2017 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
