If you’ve been missing New Girl recently, then you’re not alone. Luckily, one of the comedy’s stars has finally shared an update about the upcoming season — though it’s a little more cryptic than we were hoping for.
On Wednesday (Sept. 13), Lamorne Morris, who plays Winston Bishop (aka your favorite cat-loving cop) on the FOX sitcom, revealed just what’s happening with the show’s seventh season.
“Writers are writing,” Morris tweeted after a fan asked for any news on New Girl season 7. “Actors will act. Soon for a 7th season, we will be back.”
See what he did there? It’s a little rhyme about New Girl, and although the tweet is witty — which we’d expect from the funny guy who has brought Winston to life for six seasons — it leaves a lot to be desired.
What we do know is that while season 7 of New Girl is a go, it will mark the final season for the comedy that follows Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel) and her band of goofball roommates, Schmidt (Max Greenfield), Nick Miller (Jake Johnson), and Morris, in addition to life with her BFF Cece Parekh (Hannah Simone).
While the final season doesn’t yet have a premiere date, it is tentatively set to return in 2018, which is far away, we know, but hopefully the cast will start sharing more pictures and news once they are reunited on set together.
