American Idol ran for 15 seasons on Fox, and now that it’s being rebooted on ABC, fans want to see some familiar faces pop up when it returns. The good news is that American Idol alum Kellie Pickler is totally on board for coming back… in some capacity.
Pickler competed on the fifth season of American Idol (finishing sixth) and she knows that her career wouldn’t be the same without the singing competition, so she is more than willing to return to the series as a guest of some sort.
“It forever changed my life, and I will always be grateful to have been a part of the show,” Pickler told People in their latest issue about her time on the show.
Although she hasn’t been asked to participate on the American Idol reboot yet, the country music singer is game for being involved in some way.
“If an opportunity comes along for me to go back, I would love to!” she told the publication. As fans, we second that enthusiasm.
American Idol will feature an original from the series in the form of Ryan Seacrest as the host, so adding in a few guest judges or perhaps guest performers from the pool of former contestants could be a fun way to mix the original series with the new show.
In case Pickler doesn’t appear on American Idol, you can still see her on your television screens every week. If you’re not already watching I Love Kellie Pickler, you can tune in for the reality series third season now on CMT. Or, you can follow the “Red High Heels” singer on her new talk show called Pickler & Ben (with Ben Aaron), which premieres on today on CMT as well.
Which of Pickler’s TV ventures are you most excited about? Would you want to see her back on American Idol?
