Ahead of his return to SNL — Gosling previously hosted the sketch series back in 2015 — the Blade Runner 2049 actor ran into a little trouble at 30 Rock, and the video of his run-in is hilarious.
“All my life I knew I could host SNL, that thrill, that rush. And when I hosted it was magical, but you only got part of me last time,” Gosling says in the teaser for his SNL gig as his face is superimposed over clips of New York City. “This time, I’m going to give the world my soul. I’m going to give you something you never, ever get.”
The video then switches to Gosling at 30 Rock trying to get up to the show’s stage, wearing his usual jean jacket, and of course ready to pour on the charm. He is stopped by the front desk guy, who tells him he needs a visitor’s pass, which Gosling is not willing to get.
“You run a tight ship… I respect that,” he says before making a run for the elevator. Despite his quick moves, the Canadian actor is stopped by security and escorted out.
“Everyone’s doing a crackerjack job, really, I’m telling Lorrne,” he says as he slowly leaves the building.
Although Gosling didn’t have the best luck trying to get onto the SNL set, we have a feeling he will do a much better job hosting on Saturday, when Saturday Night Live kicks off season 43.
In addition to Gosling as the host, Jay Z — whose song can be heard in the background of this video — will be the musical guest.
For more shenanigans from Gosling tune in on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:30 p.m. ET and 8:30 p.m. PT on NBC for the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.
