At only 21 years old, Zendaya has pretty much done it all, and not-so-surprisingly, she isn’t ready to slow down any time soon.
While some may primarily know her as a Disney Channel star, Zendaya has written books, started designing her own clothing line, and can sing. Oh, and she’s also a producer. So, what’s next for Zendaya? A lot — particularly when it comes to film work.
“There’s a lot I want to do in the movie world. Having a Disney past sometimes makes it difficult for people to take you seriously, so I have to pick the right projects, make sure I do the right things, take my time,” Zendaya told Black-ish star Yara Shahidi in an interview for Glamour’s November issue.
Zendaya’s second successful Disney Channel series, K.C. Undercover has officially wrapped its third and final season, but that doesn’t mean the actress — who is both a star and producer on the show — is ready for a break. In fact, she’s ready to take the wheel on a few of her own projects.
“And then I want to produce and create shows and movies, whether or not I’m starring in them,” she explained. “You know when you watch a show and you’re like, “That’s so good. I wish I’d made it?” Why not? Why not make it? Wild idea, I know.”
In addition to starting her own projects, Zendaya has a new movie, The Greatest Showman, coming out in December alongside Zac Efron, and a few more films that she’s currently filming.
