Get ready, Dashboard Confessional fans, because new music is definitely heading your way!
During an interview with MTV News, Dashboard Confessional frontman Chris Carrabba confirmed that the band is in fact working on new music. Although he didn’t reveal when exactly fans could expect an album to drop, Carrabba — who previewed two of the band’s latest songs during a recent New York City concert — told the outlet that it’ll probably be here soon.
“All I can ever do is make the music that’s right for me at any given time,” Carrabba told MTV News. “I’ve had times when I’ve been in line with the kind of music people seem to want to listen to, and there’s times I haven’t been. But right now, it feels like I’ve written songs that are connecting with people very deeply. I can’t tell you why that is, I don’t know what those factors are, but I’m happy to be in that place.”
Despite the fact that this future record will come after a four-year hiatus for the band, and eight years after the group released Alter the Ending in 2009, it’s clear Carrabba continues to write with the same heart and passion that he’s done in the past.
When the next Dashboard Confessional record drops it’ll mark their seventh studio album as a band, and fans couldn’t be more ready to hear what the group has in store.
