A new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer is about to drop on Monday night (Oct. 9), but some people may be better off not watching it — at least according to the film’s director.
With the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi set to debut during Monday Night Football, fans are already on edge with anticipation, but director and writer Rian Johnson has mixed feelings about its arrival.
After a fan asked Johnson if they should avoid the next trailer, because of his previous warning to avoid everything ahead of the film, Johnson revealed that he doesn’t know exactly what fans should do with this new teaser.
“I a[m] legitimately torn. If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it,” Johnson tweeted on Sunday as his answer. To make it harder on Star Wars fans, he added, “But it’s gooooood…..”
The good news is that The Last Jedi, which stars Daisy Ridley (as Rey), John Boyega (as Finn), and Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), is “goooood” according to the man who has actually created this movie, but the bad news is that the pull to watch the teaser might be too great to shutdown.
Since we aren’t in a galaxy far, far away, and the new trailer will be all over the internet the moment it airs on TV tonight, it’s going to be hard to not peek at what’s to come and get a little taste of the next Star Wars film.
What are you going to do Star Wars fans, will you be watching the new trailer when it is released?
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
