Sophia Bush is already back in the saddle, and this is such good news!
After announcing that she would be leaving NBC’s Chicago P.D. ahead of its fifth season this summer, fans of the actress will be happy to know that Bush already has a new TV deal with 20th Century Fox TV, and it’s going to mean more Bush come fall 2018.
“Now more than ever, vital female voices need to be heard,” Bush said in a statement on Friday via Deadline. “I’m thrilled to begin developing content that inspires and excites me at 20th Century Fox TV.”
According to Deadline, Bush has an exclusive talent hold and development deal with the studio which will have the former One Tree Hill actress starring in either a comedy of drama project for the upcoming pilot season. She will also be on board to develop additional projects as an executive producer.
“We’ve been great admirers of Sophia for years and after meeting, we knew we wanted to be in business with her,” Fox Television Group EVP of Casting, Sharon Klein announced. “She’s smart, she’s passionate, and she brings great ideas and energy to the table. This deal is about developing with her as well as casting her into a comedy or drama this pilot season. She’s a giant TV star and we’re thrilled to have her exclusively at FTG.”
Although Bush is definitely missed on Chicago P.D. this season, we are so happy that the actress will be back on our TV screens in no time. While the 35-year-old star is known for her drama series roles, perhaps a comedy series could be a fun change of pace. Either way, Bush in a new show next fall, and developing her own project in the future for 20th Century Fox TV is big news.
What kind of show would you like to see Bush star in next pilot season?
