Zayn Malik is getting ready to release a second solo album, and fans can expect it to have a different sound than his debut solo record.
Malik sat down with V Man magazine last month to chat about his life as a solo artist, and what he hopes to do with his sophomore record. As the British singer tells it, he’s evolved since Mind of Mine’s 2016 release, and we’re going to hear that in his new music.
“I feel like my songwriting definitely developed, just because I’ve been doing it so much,” Malik told V Man about his approach to the next album. “I feel like the songs are a bit more organized, where I felt like, before, that Mind of Mine was a brainstorm. That’s why I called it Mind of Mine, because it was ideas that I had that I put out.”
The 24-year-old singer made a big statement when he went solo and released a record that landing itself at the top of the UK and US charts, and with his next release of songs, Malik plans to show how he’s grown since that initial solo venture.
“This one is more thought out. I had more time to process everything and go through it all. It’s an evolution,” he added.
Although Malik didn’t give too much away about his future album, he has been recording with a lot of different artists since his 2016 album, including PartyNextDoor for his 2017 release of “Still Got Time,” and most recently with Sia for his track, “Dusk Till Dawn.”
Oh, and when this album does drop, Malik has already teased there will be a tour, so get pumped Malik fans!
