During a recent interview for IndieWire on Facebook Live, Bell was called to get her take on another revival of the hit series, which originally ran from 2004 to 2007. From the sounds of it not only is Bell on board for anything related to Veronica Mars, but the team, including creator Rob Thomas already has a plan to make it happen.
“Personally, and I think that Rob probably agrees, (A) we’ll never make the fans pay for it again, (B) the format works better in an episodic, where you get a little more of it,” Bell told Ryan Hansen (also from Veronica Mars) who was sitting down with the publication during the IndieWire Facebook Live interview when they called her.
Fans probably won’t have to pay for the next revival, like they did for the 2014 Veronica Mars movie which was funded by a Kickstarter campaign back in 2013.
“So we want to do a miniseries,” she explained. “We are willing to put the effort in. I mean, if I have to do it as Murder, She Wrote at 80, we’re going to do it. It’s going to happen.”
While none of these ideas are set in stone, it’s great news for fans of the cult series that both Bell and Thomas are planning to revive the characters in the future. Although we don’t know when this revival will happen, we are totally on board with more Veronica Mars, especially in a miniseries format!
Would you watch a Veronica Mars miniseries?
