Over the weekend, artists from all over headed across the pond for the 2017 MTV EMAs, where Sabrina Carpenter couldn’t help but share a few details about her next album.
While walking the red carpet, Carpenter chatted with BBC Entertainment about her third record, which she’s already teased a few times before. Her latest single, “Why” is technically from the new body of work, and there’s more where that came from.
“The response to ‘Why’ has been incredible, and I’ve been writing my third album, so that’s why I’m here,” Carpenter told BBC Entertainment about her next project. “I’ve been in Sweden, London and Norway writing so I’m excited.”
The former Disney Channel star was also in Europe to do a special performance last week, but that hasn’t gotten in the way of her writing process. In fact, she teased that this record is going to a have few “cool” collaborations, which we can’t wait to hear.
“I’m definitely collaborating with some really cool people. I’m always up for changing and growth and trying new things. So you’re definitely going to hear some new sounds, whatever they are, on the new album,” she explained. “There’s already some that I’m really excited about.”
Carpenter didn’t say who these new collaborations will be with but she did say that “you’ll see a very cryptic Instagram at some point and then you’ll be like, ‘It’s coming!’” Well, we know that the young singer loves her social media teasers, so this is exactly what we would expect from her.
Now all we need to do is keep an eye on her Instagram for more clues — and hopefully new music… sooner rather than later!
