In case you missed it, Ed Sheeran just dropped a remix of his already successful track, “Perfect,” but this time it features Beyoncé and we’re not worthy!

During a recent interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on Friday, Sheeran talked about “Perfect,” which is one of his favorite songs, and what went through his mind when deciding to collaborate with Queen Bey. Spoiler alert: he never thought she’d agree to working with him on it.

“It was like one of the fastest songs I’ve written. It was the first song I wrote for the album, and I’m still not really sick of it,” Sheeran told the show’s host Ellen DeGeneres about the original song. “We’re putting out a remix tonight with Beyoncé. Which is exciting.”

As for how it all came about, the British singer recalled thinking of Beyoncé as a dream collaborator for his new vision and then just hoped for the best.

“It’s one of those things. The song came out so long ago in the scheme of music. Music kind of goes so fast. And I was like, I want to do it as a single. And then I thought of a way of re-launching it,” he explained. “I was like, I love Beyoncé, should I ask Beyoncé? In my head, I was like, she’s going to say no, and then I was like, well you might as well ask, and she said ya.”

Luckily for both Sheeran and Beyoncé fans, the “Formation” singer did say yes, and now you can hear the song you’ve always loved from the singer-songwriter with a Beyoncé twist, and it’s so good.
