After releasing eight albums throughout her career, you’d think it would be hard for Kelly Clarkson to choose her favorite record, but with her latest release, Meaning of Life, Clarkson is like a proud mamma, and we can see why.
The record, which dropped in October, is basically Clarkson’s third baby — she had her real-life second child right before she began recording this album — and according to the singer she couldn’t be more proud of it.
“I’ve never been more proud of a project, especially as a whole,” Clarkson told Parade, adding that this record is one that will give her children a real sense of “what Mama can do.”
Unlike a lot of her previous albums, Meaning of Life, shows off really anything and everything, the American Idol winner can do vocally, and trust us, this girl can sing.
“The reins held me back a bit for a while, and this is the first time I was able to actually push myself vocally,” she explained.
In addition to letting herself go all in on this record, Clarkson has been taking on other new challenges in her life, like being a mother of two, and getting ready to be a coach on The Voice.
While we don’t know how she does it all, we’re just glad Clarkson has released new music and that soon we’ll be seeing her back on TV when The Voice begins season 14!
