Shawn Mendes might be busy touring right now, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time to plan his next move in music.
“I think opening up is a bigger thing to do — if I could play with any artist one day, it would be amazing to play with Alicia Keys, I think she’s amazing,” Mendes told Singapore’s Bandwagon when talking about his dream collaborator — and possible tourmate someday.
As for what he plans to do when the Illuminate World Tour wraps up — it ends on December 18, 2017 in Tokyo — the “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” singer is ready for another record, and it is music to our ears.
“That’s what I’m working on right now,” Mendes said in regard to his third album. “I’m kind of just writing as many songs as I can write, and then there’ll be a third album sooner than later. But I can’t tell you much more about it.”
The “Treat You Better” singer has previously teased his next album, which he’s referring to as Album 3, saying that it will be full of “anthems.” With confirmation that this next record is in fact his priority in the new year, fans should be pretty pleased that it’s almost 2018!
