Ed Sheeran has had one big year, and now that it’s coming to a close, he’s taking a moment to give a shout out to everyone who supported him throughout 2017.

After releasing his third record, ÷, in March of this year and having it debut at number one in the U.K. and eventually hit number one in the U.S., it’s safe to say that Sheeran’s 2017 was a very successful one, and he definitely knows it.

“Final day of work for the year today. Been the best professional year of my life, but it’s flown by,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram on Sunday marking the end of his 2017 work year. “Seems like a week ago that Shape of you and Castle on the hill came out.”

The “Castles on the Hill” singer went on to thank his fans for being so loyal and consistently supportive this year, and of course wished them a great 2018, and it really feels like Sheeran is our new best friend.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported everything I did this year, amazing way to start the year and an amazing way to end it,” he continued.

While 2017 was a massive year for the British singer, 2018 is already going to be a big year as well. Next year it’ll be all about the touring for the “Perfect” singer, and we’re so ready for it.
