We still can’t get over the fact that we’ve already had to say goodbye to so many good TV series this year. Shows like Girls, The Vampire Diaries and Teen Wolf all came to a close this year, and they are only a few of the amazing series that we’re not ready to let go of.
That being said there are even more shows that called it quits in 2017, and we’re sad to see them go. For starters, who can forget that Freeform will no longer be giving us new episodes of Pretty Little Liars? The drama series aired its forever finale in June and we’re still not sure why A was so crazy.
In case you missed it, The Mindy Project aired its sixth and final season finale in November and life without Mindy Lahiri (played by Mindy Kaling) will not be the same. FX’s The Strain won’t be returning for a fifth season — it aired its final episode on September 17, 2017 — and the Matt LeBlanc led comedy Episodes finished its run on Showtime on October 8, 2017.
After five seasons, both Switched at Birth and Bates Motel said farewell to their fans in April of this year, while Orphan Black said goodbye in June. We also had to part with The Leftovers, and Reign, but at least Reign’s leading lady Adelaide Kane became a new face on the revamped Once Upon a Time.
As for the end of the year, we won’t be letting go of any shows this month, but come 2018 there are already two big series we’re going to finish watching for good, Scandal, which will air the second half of its seventh and final season beginning January 2018, and The Middle, which will drop its final few episodes of the ninth season starting next month.
PS: New Girl will begin its sixth and final season next year, and they’ve already wrapped filming!
Which show are you still bummed won’t be coming back in 2018?
