Super Bowl LII just got better… now that Pink is joining in on the fun!
On Monday (Jan. 8), the NFL announced that Pink would be singing the national anthem at the biggest football game of them all, and we are very excited about seeing the edgy singer out on the 50-yard line.
According to People, Pink will be performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of the big game on February 4, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it will be her first appearance at any Super Bowl.
Although the “What About Us” singer has yet to make a statement about her big gig, she did tease that 2018 was going to be a great year last week on Twitter, and perhaps this is what she was alluding to.
“I’m really looking forward to 2018. I’m really excited about the Grammy’s. Tour,” she tweeted. “Some other stuff that’s a secret still and I can’t wait til it’s not a secret.”
As for who will be the Super Bowl halftime performer, that name has been known for a while now, and we’re still not over the fact that it will be Justin Timberlake! With his new album set to drop in February, and a Super Bowl performance the same month, 2018 is clearly looking up.
Now all we need to know is if Timberlake will have Pink join him on stage at some point. Sure, it’s not a requirement, and we’re happy to see Pink do her thing alone before kickoff, but these two singers teaming up at halftime would be pretty amazing.
What do you think about Pink singing the national anthem? Are you ready to watch Super Bowl LII?
