Carrie Underwood is back with new music, and if you’re not a big football fan, you might’ve missed her quick song tease.
On Saturday (Jan. 6) during the halftime commercial break of the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams playoff game, Underwood’s latest song was teased and previewed while recap footage from the first half of the NFL game played.
“Check out something special from @carrieunderwood that aired tonight during halftime! #SBLII #TheChampion,” Sunday Night Football on NBC wrote on a clip of the halftime commercial.
Although it’s brief, and doesn’t feature Underwood herself, you can hear her iconic voice singing lyrics that are fit for a champion — a Super Bowl champion that is. “I am invincible, unbreakable, unstoppable, unshakable” you can hear her singing and it’s such an inspiring track.
At the time, Underwood simply re-posted NBC’s Instagram post, but she later posted her own little tease for the song, which seems to be called “The Champion,” and will become a much bigger story as the Super Bowl approaches.
“#TheChampion coming January 12. #SBLII,” Underwood captioned a picture on Monday with the word “INVINCIBLE” written on it.
While the country singer hasn’t given any more information as of now, it looks like “The Champion” will be a new song by Underwood and will come out this week! Fingers crossed we also hear it in its entirety during this weekend’s NFL playoff games, or at the very least, when Super Bowl LII takes place next month.
“The Champion” drops on Friday, January 12, 2018.
