It’s game time! Ellen’s Game of Games has officially been picked up by NBC for a second seasons, so let the games begin, or technically, continue.
Ellen DeGeneres‘ game show, which was inspired by all the fun and wacky games she has celebrities play on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, premiered last month (and began its weekly regular schedule on January 2nd), and has only had four episodes air thus far, but NBC already wants more.
On Tuesday (Jan. 9), the network announced that Ellen’s Game of Games would be picked up for season 2 at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour and it’s such good news. According to TVLine, the game show will have 13 episodes next seasons, which means a lot of wild games to look forward to.
“Ellen’s enthusiasm and energy is utterly infectious,” NBC alternative/reality president Paul Telegdy said in a statement via TVLine. “It’s been exciting to watch her antics super-sized on a primetime stage. Audiences love spending time with her, and we know she’ll continue to raise the bar with even bigger games and more hilarity as the show continues to grow.”
In case you haven’t been watching, every week the primetime game show is hosted by DeGeneres and features random contestants that are picked from her audience to play different games. Some of these hilarious challenges include, Blindfolded Musical Chairs and Scary Go Round. Every game comes with the possibility of winning money, so really, what could be better?
Ellen’s Game of Games airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
