Shawn Mendes is coming to a summer concert near you — well, actually, he’s going all the way to Japan this summer, but he is performing when he gets there.
On Tuesday (Jan. 16), the Canadian singer shared some exciting news with his fans by simply posting a picture of a summer festival poster on Twitter. Even though Mendes didn’t caption the picture, you can see that it’s for a music festival and his name is on it, which means the singer is hitting the festival circuit!
The poster is for Summer Sonic, which is Japan’s premiere music festival that takes place every summer. This year’s shows will be on August 18, 2018 and August 19, 2018. Mendes will be one of the featured artists and he’s definitely in good company.
Summer Sonic will take place in both Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, with the line-ups varying dependent on the location, and while we don’t know which date (hopefully it’ll be both) and which location the “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” singer will perform at, we do know he’s going to be taking the stage this August in Japan.
Other acts for the newly announced 2018 summer festival include Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Nickelback, Beck, Chance the Rapper, Marshmellow, J Balvin and more. If you’re in Japan, or happen to be headed there this summer, you can get tickets for the Summer Sonic festival beginning on January 20, 2018. The early bird price is $204.
