Even though the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff has yet to receive its official title, Jason George, who plays Ben Warren on Grey’s, and now the spinoff, has a clear sense of what fans can expect from the new show.
Like Grey’s Anatomy, the firefighter spinoff will take place in Seattle, and according to George there will be lots of drama, and of course laughter… even in the face of danger.
“Just like Grey’s, this new show will give you instances that make you laugh until you realize that, ‘oh my goodness, there’s real danger there,’ as well as giving you things that are well out of the box,” George recently told TV Guide.
Although George’s character Ben is used to intense situations at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, he is much more inexperienced when it comes to being a firefighter. That “real danger” while fighting fires isn’t the only thing he’ll face at his new job. There will be drama —similar to the kind you love from inside Grey Sloan Memorial — inside the fire house as well.
“I think the other fun part is gonna be seeing how we all react to those [situations]. You gotta come back to this house and you gotta hold up for another 20 hours, be stuck in a house with a bunch of beautiful people and let good drama ensue,” he teased.
While we don’t have the final title for the spinoff, we do know that George will be acting alongside Jaina Lee Ortiz, Miguel Sandoval, Okieriete Onaodowan and more amazing actors when the series begins this spring.
The untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff will begin with a two-hour premiere on March 22, 2018 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
