Pilot season has begun, and you know what that means… a lot of new TV talk! Every year the networks get ready to add new shows to their TV lineup, with the help of TV pilots, and then the lucky ones make it all the way to series order come fall or winter premiere time.
Ahead of the 2018-2019 TV schedules being announced this spring, we’ve rounded up the pilots that are currently on The CW’s radar, and whether or not any of them have been order straight to series so far. Get ready TV fans, because this is your time!
Charmed is getting a reboot – well, hopefully – and it’s going to be different than the Halliwell sisters‘ stories that you might remember. The drama, which will be written by Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, is going to take place in modern times and again focus on witch sisters. This time around, it will be about three sisters that live in a college town who have to vanquish demons, tear down the patriarchy of the time, maintain their family ties and of course harness and hone their witch powers.
Dead Inside is another drama that The CW is looking at for next year’s TV lineup. The pilot was written by Katie Lovejoy and is a little complicated. According to the network it will follow a beat cop who survives an explosion that kills her detective big brother. After the incident she starts seeing his ghost, and even though he’s dead, the sister starts to work with her ghost brother to solve crimes and help make their city a better place.
This is the Supernatural spinoff series that has already been ordered to series! Wayward Sisters is written by Andrew Dabb and Robert Berens, and centers around Sheriff Jody Mills and a group of young women who are troubled (all were orphaned by a supernatural tragedy). Together they become a monster-fighting crew. The series, which already aired a pilot in January, will star Kathryn Newton, Katherine Ramdeen, Briana Buckmaster, Clark Backo, and Yadira Guevara-Prip.
Although The CW won’t announce their official fall 2018-2019 lineup until May, these pilots have already made the cut – at least the first cut – and we can’t wait to see if they get picked up all the way.
