It’s been more than a year since Meghan Trainor has released new music (her last album was in May 2016), but it looks like the musical drought is almost over.
While appearing on The Late Late Show With James Corden this week, the “All About That Bass” singer finally revealed when fans could expect her next record to drop, and we can’t contain our excitement.
After the late-night host stated that new music was coming from Trainor, he tried to get her to say exactly when it will be dropping, and somehow he almost got fans an official date… almost.
“Yes, soon. That’s all I can say,” Trainor told James Corden at first. Corden then threw out a number “two months,” to which Trainor said “no.” Of course Corden didn’t give up and instead asked if it was more or less than that time period, and an answer was finally given.
“Less than two months,” Trainor eventually replied, and this is definitely music to our ears.
What’s equally exciting is that there are also music videos heading our way soon as well, and a few of them are done and ready to go already. “Two videos down, in the bag,” Trainor exclaimed after Corden brought up the topic, and again we are so happy with this news.
Although we have a tentative release date — or rather time frame — fans still have to wait to hear what the “Dear Future Husband” singer has in store this time around, but we have a feeling this record will be worth the wait.
